JULY 2021
FROM THE DIRECTOR'S DESK | Lucero Ruiz, Creative Director
But, did you see our Q4 Spec? The creative architects delivered daring creative ideas. Our graphic designers, not shying away from the challenge, brought the ideas to life. Our production team used editing wizardry and wrapped with impactful commercials! Team, we delivered a solid variety of spec for our clients, and we could not have done it without everyone working together!

All creative departments are gearing up for Q4. Please keep in mind the house keeping items from our Traffic department. Following those slight details will expedite our work significantly. Thank you team for the hard work and dedication! Let’s keep the momentum going!

TRAFFIC RADAR | Sara Goodfellow, Traffic Manager
We are very excited to now be working with the Art Department on their Traffic needs! More updates to come over the next few months.

New SPECIFIC Task Names & Description Questions are coming for the Creative Departments! Mini Rollout coming SOON…

REMINDERS
  • Wait to grab completed jobs until they are Dept Approved by the Creative Heads (or Traffic). It is vital that the creative management QC’s all jobs before you take them/send them to clients. If you MUST take something, alert Traffic & the Creative Dept Manager first.
  • Set your Art or Prod Task to New after your Copy Task is completed. Setting the date due on the Art or Prod Task days out from the Copy Task is not the same thing.
  • Spread out your COPY tasks that are grouped together as much as possible, so they are not all due on the same day.

Always come to Gina or Sara any time for questions or concerns. We are here to help you and make us all a well-oiled machine 😀.

THE CUTTING ROOM FLOOR | Adam Anderson, Video Director
Q4 is almost upon us, which means our editors are hard at work creating all-new 2021 Q4 Spec! Our award-winning editors are excited to show off new creative and enjoy the opportunity to flex their skills.

We are in the process of building a new database to organize and store all production footage, projects, tutorials, and other assets. With Kyle Insolia at the lead and creating the foundation, this will be a fantastic resource for us to quickly retrieve the pieces you’re looking for.

We’re wrapping up Q3 with a high production rate and we’re excited to see continued growth through the rest of the year!

Make sure to check out the weekly production highlights on the WFH channel! If you see something that you’d like for your dealer, let us know! Nearly everything is customizable.

ALL ABOUT THAT ART LIFE | Duane Grant, Art Director
Art is excited to welcome Jailyn Von Horn to the team. During her internship she has demonstrated great work ethic and skill. Unfortunately, we are also saying goodbye to 3 of our current designers. Ian, Stacey, and Avery will be missed, and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with them.

As we are approaching Q4 the team is staying focused and has prepared to take on the busy season with the most recently created Q4 spec assets.

Art also had the opportunity to get involved in some nonautomotive related projects which are currently still in development. This new path is very exciting, and we can’t wait to see where it will take us.

THE DIGITAL ART PERSPECTIVE | Jeff Roskow, Project Manager
We have new task tracking and organizational tools for tracking tasks for ART. This should help improve workflows and making sure tasks priorities are flowing correctly and efficiently. I want to thank you all for the help and communication to ensure your priority tasks are being handled timely. The communication we have been receiving has been most helpful so thank you very much!

New Dash feature has been developed to help with communication and ensuring proper information to be included into tasks when submitted. Talking about the 11 Need More Info" button! It was recently rolled out and, upon early testing, there have been a few details and kinks to be worked out. As it's being tested more, we are recording challenges to supply better direction and help improve the process before fully implementing it across the board.

THE WRITERS' ROOM | Kevin Brown, Director of Creative Strategy
Creativity is in abundance as we move into the production of Q4 SPEC. The writers were on their game so huge props to them for knocking it out of the park.

Only one real hurdle to write about this month and that’s making sure that all attachments are put in the job task along with a detailed job description!

BEYOND THE LENS | Kevin Brown, Director of Creative Strategy
Just a few things to mention as we move into more production dates:
  • Please book your shoots as early as you know about them! Talent and studios are booking up fast and you may not be able to get a date that works for you. Client if you wait.
  • Try and get the team scripts at least 72 hrs. in advance if possible, in order for us to get them to the agencies, talent and studio.
  • Remember, if your dealer is wanting drone b-roll and they are near an airport it may be very difficult to get clearance without a written request (90 days prior) to the FAA. Its been our experience it doesn’t happen. However, we do have unique ways to capture footage that could equal drone footage in those situations.
